Kenyan Gospel Group - AFRIZO - Touring the US

Afrizo is a group of Daystar University students who sing in a variety of African traditions.
Founded and directed by Daystar faculty member Hellen Mtawali, Afrizo sings in English, Swahili, and African tribal languages, worshiping the
Lord in a unique variety of languages and styles. Afrizo toured the US in 2007 and 2009 performing in churches and colleges across the U.S.,
sharing the vision of Daystar University and raising money for scholarships for their peers at Daystar. They will return to the US in fall 2011!

DAYSTAR UNIVERSITY
Daystar University is a Christian, Liberal Arts University located in Nairobi, Kenya. The mission of Daystar is to educate Jesus-centered servant leaders to transform Africa.

Founded more than 35 years ago, Daystar University is the first Africa-led Christian liberal arts university in Africa. Its 4,000 students come from countries across the continent. Daystar emphasizes servant leadership, and many Daystar graduates return to their communities empowered to address
issues such as HIV/AIDS, poverty, and civil strife by implementing the principles of servant leadership. Daystar graduates go on to serve in government, business, communications, community development, and pastoral ministry in their home countries, becoming the next generation of
Africa ’s leaders.

Daystar U.S. serves the university by providing financial, administrative,
and personnel support for Daystar University. Each year the U.S. office
raises funds for scholarships for Daystar students, for buildings on campus,

You can make a difference by blessing the life of a promising student who has a financial need. We turn away many students each year because there is not enough scholarship money to help, and there are no student loans from banks to make up the shortfall. These gifted leaders are denied the education they need to serve their communities.

The full cost for a scholarship (including such things as tuition, housing, food, and library fees) is about $5,800 per year. We combine gifts to make as many scholarships as we can. Thank you for your support!
