New Church Launched in Boston, (Faith Family Center) - Lots of Photos below

January 9th 2011 Faith Family Center was launched in a colorful event held at the Courtyard Marriott Logan Airport Boston, MA. The notable theme color of the day was Purple signifying nobility, royalty, and spirituality.

Felix Mwangi and the worship team ushered in the spirit of praise. John Kingara was on the drums, Jack on the Guitar, Mark on the bass, Curtis on the saxophone, and Felix on the Keyboard. The worship was contemporary and upbeat. This was a reflection of the demographics of the launch meeting; the there were young people and young families not only from the Kenyan community but also Americans. We had Praise and Worship, Song presentations all of us together; kids, young adults and adults. Thereafter after prayer the kids were sent to their designated room for further care and spiritual nourishing.

Rev. Catherine Wambui-Mwangi delivered the timely message for the first Sunday and she preached a message entitled “Pursuit of Purpose.” She told the congregation that Solomon in his vast knowledge counted all toil as foil but in Ecclesiastes 3:12 “I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.” Rev Catherine encouraged the people to pursue their kingdom purpose because only what you do for Christ will last. While all the works of your hands will not stand the test of time only those things you do for the kingdom of God are eternal.

She narrated how people in the olden days were in expectation and all reasoned in their hearts about John the Baptist whether he was Christ or not. He did not come to the people. People came to John the Baptist in spite of him preaching strange sermons. There was something so Strange, unique and attractive about John the Baptist. He was a Miracle Child of Zachariah an old man, and his wife Elizabeth who was barren. Yet he was a specific role ordained by God as forerunner or precursor of Jesus Christ, who was the foretold. He lived in the desert, was a rusty and rugged man.

He had an unusual flair for fashion, wearing wild-looking clothing made of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist. He lived in the desert wilderness, ate locust and wild honey and preached a strange message. Unlike so many people, John the Baptist knew his mission in life. He clearly understood that he had been set apart by God for a purpose.

Those peculiar Characteristics made him Charismatic and weird. People questioned could this be the Messiah! Could this be the Christ! John the Baptist replied I am not he. His sole Purpose was to prepare a way for Christ. She quoted the Song “… Only what you do for Christ will last.” Rev. Catherine Mwangi said “Every purpose has a wilderness experience that helps us to submit to Gods experience. She urged those in attendance not to be consumed by doing things that will not credit us later. John the Baptist was not a crowd pleaser yet it is credited to him as the greatest man having lived his purpose as the Forerunner for Christ. Luke 7:28, that John the Baptist was the greatest man to have ever lived: “I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John …”

What are you doing for God come Monday to Sunday? What you do for Christ will leave a Legacy. When all is said and done. What will be said of us?

After the service everyone was treated to a sumptuous luncheon at the hotel. The launch also coincided with Rev Catherine’s Birthday, which was marked singing, and cutting of the cake. We all sang Happy Birthday for Rev Catherine Lead by Husband Minister Felix.

Rev. Catherine Wambui-Mwangi and Felix Mwangi have a heart to reach out to their generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They also welcome you to next Sunday’s service to be held at:
