The Absolute NO List - continued by Apostle Stacy Woods

MY ABSOLUTE NO LIST -
By the grace of God, I can no longer:

* Allow myself to be consumed with what people think of me. I will walk in deliverance from people and their opinions.

* Allow myself to run myself raggedy.

* Make myself available by phone and computer at all times during the day and into the night.

* Compromise my needs to keep peace with anyone.

* Argue with people who see debating as a sport.

* Keep anything in my home that I don't love or need.

* Keep my mouth shut when someone is out of line.

* Deal with difficult life situations alone.

* Hire anyone - be it a lawyer, doctor, health-care provider, or what have you - who treats me with disrespect.

* Go to work when I'm sick.

* Keep my opinions to myself when they don't align with those of others in the room.

* Let social norms dictate what I should be interested in, whether it's clothes, art, music, or the like. I love what I love.

* Invest time in relationships that aren't aligned with who I am and who I want to be.

* Get caught up in other people's drama.

* Feel an obligation to spend time with family members or friends who choose to live in chaos.

* Feel bad about saying no when no is what's best for me.

* Let my mind be on work when I'm not working.

* Volunteer for any organization that doesn't have a concrete vision, plan, and sufficient staffing.

* Give of myself and my resources when I can't afford to give.

My affirmation:
I will LEARN to follow this list as my PERSONAL standard. I'm allowing God to work on me, in His time, through His word, by His own standards. I'm not in a hurry, or pressured to change for anyone because I in myself have no power over time. I will however, yield, surrender, and give myself entirely to Jesus. I will trust Him to convict me of my wrongs, direct my path, and speak to my heart. He will perfect (mature) that which concerns me in His time. I will not rush His process to fulfill man made schedules or time lines. I do not have to perform. I am, because He is, and I'll only continue to be when I realize that He must be in total control. It may not happen over night, but I will diligently seek to finish this course, with God to help.

CREATING YOUR OWN ABSOLUTE NO LIST

The first thing you'll want to do is spend a week looking for those activities that you no longer do, no longer want to do, or would like to give up at some point in the future. In addition, pay attention to the sources of frustration in your life - the same old arguments, the typical commitments you make that backfire, or the situations that always leave you feeling drained or resentful. When looking for absolute noes, pay close attention to how you feel in your body. Look for those times when you feel tension in your neck or shoulders, tightness in your arms, aching in your head, or butterflies in your stomach.

From this, create your list of absolute noes. Post your list in a place where you'll see it every day for at least the next month and be sure to read through it each day. Over time, you will learn how to be free to be your best self.
