Top lawyers who will likely represent NASA, Jubilee and IEBC in grueling Supreme Court battle

NASA and Jubilee are preparing for a grueling battle over election results – NASA will file a petition at the Supreme Court challenging Uhuru Kenyatta’s win – The two factions have retained the services of some of the lawyers who represented them in the 2013 petition – Notable names include James Orengo, Fred Ngatia, Ahamednasir Abdullahi, Paul Muite and Paul George Oraro The National Super Alliance (NASA) is set to move to the Supreme Court Friday, August 18, to file a petition challenging the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 polls. NASA has disputed the results that saw the IEBC announce Uhuru the winner in an election that Raila Odinga made his last shot at the presidency. It will be the second time Raila will be in court challenging a presidential poll, having done so in 2013 when he again lost to Uhuru.

Both NASA and Jubilee party are likely to retain some of the lawyers who battled out in 2013.

NASA will likely be represented by Siaya Senator James Orengo, Raila’s lawyer Paul Mwangi, George Oraro, Ben Sihanya and Willis Otieno.

Orengo, Oraro and Mwangi represented NASA in 2013 when they lost the petition. Other lawyers that may appear are Jackson Awele and Willis Otieno. Jubilee party will likely retain the services of Katwa Kigen, Fred Ngatia Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kidiki, Mohammed Nyaoga and Ahamednasir Abdullahi who represented them in 2013. Other lawyers Jubilee is likely to bring on board are Njoroge Regeru and Tom Macharia.

Orengo, Oraro and Mwangi represented NASA in 2013 when they lost the petition. Other lawyers that may appear are Jackson Awele and Willis Otieno. Paul Muite will represent IEBC Photo:

IEBC will be likely be represented by lawyers Paul Nyamodi, Paul Muite and Kamau Karori. Attorney General Githu Muigai is likely to make an application to appear in the petition as Amicus Curiae to provide neutral legal guidance.
